i'm really tired of the entire AI art debate. everything is used with AI in some way (the person who tried to identify AI art also used an AI tool to find out if it was real or not LOL). also, the zombie is from stock images. most things in the industry are designed with stock images wether you realize it or not. i can assure you an artist is getting paid regardless. so no one is going without. every designer i know is using AI/stock images. some people are just better at hiding it than others. it shouldn't be seen as a job killer, but more as a tool like everything else. i've seen people who have hand drawn stuff for years get into AI bc their clients want fast turnaround times and don't wanna bust their ass for low pay. unless you're in the designing/art industry - i don't think you should have a say in the AI art debate. that's just how i feel.

So it looks like they're not including the Hunchback and Mr. Hyde, plus the female monsters that will be seen in the HHN 33 Universal Monsters house

Doesn't matter how much you protest, AI is coming for everything, including jobs. Sad to say, lot of writers, artists, etc won't get work. That's how it works. You can't stop it. Society will adapt. I get it, we all want amazing original art and movies, music, etc. But at the end of the day, it's gonna happen. I guess we can try and slow it down, but how can you slow a tidal wave when it's coming full force? Just like crypto. People can fight it all they want, but it's happening whether you like it or not. Grim take, but yes, realistic. The old way of living life is coming to an end. If you think far enough into the future, humans will merge and become AI robots. Nothing you can do to stop it. Fight all you want, but enjoy life also. Its happening.

I was just at Disney and the Taina ride was down for a while. I was also disappointed that the floor lights in Epcot where not working. But the Guardians ride is the best ride I have ever been on. Even better than rise and I'm a Star Wars fan.

I guess my bigger concern with the AI art issue (aside from the usual gripes) is that there seems to be zero communication between the HHN team and the Universal marketing team. For example, the nuclear explosion / mushroom cloud on the artwork making people think that will be part of the theming, only for Murdy to say that there will be zero nuclear theming in the maze. If that's the case, why is it in the key art? Seems like a slippery slope that can easily misrepresent / falsely advertise the houses. I would hope that the HHN teams are directly communicating with the marketing team and making sure everything is accurate, but if what Murdy says is true i.e. he doesn't work with marketing at all and has no clue how the key art is made, that's concerning.

AI has no place in a creative space unless it's used as a tool and not a replacement. It might be even worse for theme parks because of how misleading they usually are (look at the willy Wonka Glasgow experience)

Honestly, being in the field myself, what almost certainly happened is some employee got told by the brass 'we need a killer nuclear zombie painting for the hype release, you've got three hours', because management never has even the ghost of a clue how long art takes. So said employee spent some time farting around in Stable Diffusion, tidied it up, and put it out, not figuring anyone would care. Many art departments are desperately understaffed and overworked anymore, because the bean crushers don't understand that it's 'real work', but instead expect far too few people to turn out far too much product on unrealistically short deadlines since it's not as 'real' as their spreadsheets.

Thank you for speaking out against AI artwork. We have many friends who are now losing work due to AI being used as a shortcut. Great to see Peter getting clarification too.
